FreePBX

For the last few months I have been working with installing and configuring FreePBX which is a really cool and easy to use phone system distibution based on the Asterisk phone system.

Their site is here:

http://www.freepbx.org/

Basic installation is really simple and streigh forwards from an iso. It installs a centos 6 OS with FreePBX already installed. During the installation you just need to configure the systems ip address and also the root password.

Once the system is installed you just point the browser to theip of the server and it opens the gui of the site.

The first time you connect to the web interface it asks you to create a new user then you are sent to the default lgoin page:

Once on this page you just click on FreePBX Administration andlog in with the user that you created the first time you connected to the page and you are inside the config area of the PBX where you can configure everything that you need.

I am going to add specific configurations that I have done to the freePBX systems during the project in future blogs.
